Roost seems to combine the 3 things that make me happy in life, and that make a 'blog' truly stand out - photography, recipes & beautiful narratives. And though I will not be adventuring out as often over the upcoming months, at least I can look forward to trying to create these masterpieces myself. What they will look like, we can only imagine.

{hungry eyes} Roost blog
As you've probably caught on to, I have food on the brain. Definitely a side effect of the dropping temperatures & the comfort of it all.

{Living With} Chronic Bitch Face
I had to re-post this. I may be one of the easiest people to make laugh, and am usually happy, but I am not one of those people who walks with a perma-grin on their face. Which then leads to the random 'smile' & 'cheer up' from creepy strangers...
Plus...that's literally how I usually look with the glasses [just not as bitchface'd, I hope].

Monkey Finger Puppets!
I loooove monkeys, and these finger puppets that I found on Twig & Thistle are going to be put on my craft list (well, I will create a craft list and then put them on it) for a dear friend's daughter! And, maybe an extra one for me...

Colour Comparisons
Ok, I know I just said it's hard to find blogs that inspire sometimes & I just found the most amazing one ever. EVER. Miss Moss has created side by side images in this specific post combining gorgeous street style shots, from the likes of The Sartorialist, with vintage design & paintings. Now excuse me while I spend the next 3 hours reading everything on the rest of her site & let my eyes burn out..
Check out her blog to look at all of her wonderful creations.

This one above is my hands down favorite

A thank you note a day
It's sometimes hard to find new blogs that inspire with so much out there, but THXTHXTHX is such a simple concept in thought & it really puts a smile on my face. It brings me back to the simplicity of life & things we tend to overlook-I think this works much better than an apple a day.

2011 List
Thanks to DesignLoveFest Bri Emery's Twitter, I found some motivation to create my own list for myself in 2011. Not resolutions that will disappear by January 3rd...but real things to remember. What's on your list?

-You have stopped 'not living because of fear' and great things are happening because of it. Don't let it get the best of you.
-If everything in the creative world was easy, everyone would be doing it. Don't let the little bumps take away your energy.
-Continue to evaluate things & fully communicate with everyone in your life. Everything is a process, but you are doing great!
-Take the time to keep you check book balanced. When it's not, your life is usually a little messy. Organize, organize, organize.
-Always trust your gut. It has your best interest in mind.
-Continue adding brightness, textures, sequins & other shiny pieces to your wardrobe (like that number above). While you are at it, display it. Always good for a little pick me up on a drab day.
-Don't let your laziness grab you...you know you are better than that!
-Budget wisely, but don't forget to spend on things for yourself...like a manicure, a lip color or some delicious treats from time to time, instead of a pair of shoes that you really don't need!
How amazing is this B-Day dress? Fabulous (and seriously affordable) couture find from Modern Vintage in PDX. I would wear it everyday if I could

Tea & Gingerbread Homes
How adorable & perfect are these gingerbread houses from not martha?! I really love how she used the door to hold up the house & the sprinkles for the snow. They would be just perfect perched on my mug hovering over my Chai tea.

Guilty Pleasure
One of my many guilty pleasures is Once Wed & W. Scott Chester's blogs (in the words of Rachel Zoe, I die). I say guilty pleasure because I am not anywhere near the stage in life to be looking at wedding sites. That being said, I still find myself get sucked into the photography & design of these eclectic & organic weddings. When that day does come, I know who is going to be behind the lens capturing every detail perfectly & where I will be going for beautiful outdoor wedding ideas.

Paris vs. New York, a tally of two cities
This is by far one of my favorite blogs right now. A whimsical "versus" play on New York's cliches and contradictions through the eyes of a lover of Paris. Humor and simplicity displayed through graphics. Love.

Girl Crush
Ever since I first clicked my way onto Late Afternoon, I grew a bit of a "girl crush" on it's impeccably styled creator, Liz Cherkasova. I just fell head over heels in blog love with her San Francisco style and the personality that beams through her eyes in each photograph.
View ThreadSence.com's Winter video lookbook featuring her running around town and you'll get what I'm saying.
