{side by side} Alberto Seveso x Delpozo
I was going back in time on past blog posts with Brian two nights ago, and after we went through all my "style" choices (and how much of a baby I was in some of the photos!), I came across one of the side by side posts I used to do. I 100% forgot that I used to do these and immediately started going through archives of images I've saved to do more. I really enjoy finding the connection between two juxtaposed images.

{on the street} bowie
The side of the Rag & Bone store on Houston St. always has amazing artwork showcased, and sometimes you are lucky enough to see the artists in action. This one I only saw the finished product, but man, the detailing is just spectacular.

{happy Friday}
I can't believe it's already December, where has the time gone?? Anyhoo, planning a lovely little weekend in NYC and hoping I have enough time to take a trip over to Christie's for 'The Collection of Elizabeth Taylor' exhibit [I had no idea the archives she had!]. It may just be the perfect Sunday afternoon delight.

{side by side} purple haze
This whole side by side series is quickly becoming my favorite post to search for. Well, next to the food ones obviously...

{sketchy}
As I am [slowly] putting my living room together, I feel like I need some pencil sketches in frames to put some unique touches in here. I can't find what I'm looking for in stores or in my old art files, so gonna get the sketch pad out and start scratching away. Hopefully, will have some things to share with you sooner than later!

Not sure how she does it, but Shane McAdams has somehow managed to capture spectacular artwork with ball point pens & resin. Wow!

Rust Never Sleeps
So, I shared with you awhile back that the amazing artist, Andrew Ricci, had recreated a few of my images from Allaire State Park with oil paints. Well, his piece "Rust Never Sleeps" is going to be on display in NYC this Friday at Our Silent Canvas-Echo the Movements! I have yet to see it in person-I can't wait!

Arts in the Plaza {St. Maarten}
So, after a very lucky 2-day extension to my trip, I am back to the grind. The first night of my stay at Porto Cupecoy was spend at their "Arts in the Plaza" event, where local visual & performing artists exhibit their work. There was great music, artwork and a great young dance group that I could have watched for hours-everything combined really set the stage for a cultural gathering of what St. Maarten/St. Martin is really about.

Google's "Art Project"
Google just launched their "Art Project" showcasing masterpieces from 17 acclaimed art galleries from around the world, including The Frick Collection in NYC, the National Gallery in London & the Palace of Versailles. With this, you have the ability to zoom so close into the artwork that you can see brush strokes & texture of the canvas. I'm in awe... this is truly breathtaking!!
