{style} colorblocking + atwood

Every now and then you come across something that speaks to you, a kind of 'love at first site', if you will.  That's exactly how I felt when I came across these Brian Atwood's - the colors, the mixed materials, the double "T" straps - everything was marvelous.  I figured a friends' bridal shower was the perfect destination to take them for a bit of a test drive and now, all I can think about is finding reasons to wear them as much as possible.

{style} jazz age lawn party pt 3

I wasn't planning on dressing up this go around, but I came across a comfortable + authentic little ensemble this weekend at my favorite antique store so dolled up again.  This time I even took out the curling iron to do some faux fingerling waves and did some hair tucking.  Not as much Midnight in Paris as Annie, but 20's all the same!

It's no surprise that my favorite interior spaces are in the homes of the designers themselves, and the ones created by Lee Ledbetter for his southern digs are no exception.  Who would have thought such things were along the streets of New Orleans?!

{style} color me happy

I have always had a color-coordinated closet [the OCD comes out to fashion related stuff], but ever since I saw Bri Emery's closet, I realized she was doing it wayyyyy better than I was.  Some things need to be shown off, so I make sure to put my favorite pieces, or visually appealing items that I should wear more often, on display in my bedroom.  With winter comes more sequins + bedazzlement, but summer items are just as nice to wake up to...
