{Kirkman Lofts} Brooklyn

So, the other day before the frolicking and eating began in Dumbo, I was visiting the Kirkman Lofts Condo building on Bridge Street and really fell in love.  The building was commissioned by Kirkman & Son Soap Company in 1916 and still has the metal detailing & original silos throughout [definite bragging rights].  If I find a genie, this is definitely one of my wishes.

Yes that is a motorcycle in the living space.  And yes, it was purchased for $30

{Good Eats} Bubby's Brooklyn and biscuits

After a beautiful tour at Kirkman Lofts, three of us decided to dine at the much talked about Bubby's Brooklyn.  It is a beautifully open Dumbo space with stunning views of the East River/Manhattan, that I immediately envisioned an engagement party/rehearsal dinner in.

You could really feel the love in the food. It had a comforting southern-style menu with brisket and homemade biscuits that I could understand people killing for.  And there's really no better way to end an evening with the sun setting behind the Manhattan skyline...
