Movember

This morning on my way to brunch, I ran into a good friend with a new 'stache on his face.  When I asked him about it, he started telling me how men growing a mustache in November is their ribbon for men's health, just like a pink ribbon in October stands for women's health.  I may have been under a rock, but this was the first I have heard about Movember (Mo, slang for mustache) and the movement to change the face of men's health, no pun intended.  It's as simple as growing a mustache for the month of November-what a fun way for guys to get involved & raise global awareness!

From Seed to Need

A close friend of mine pointed out to me this past weekend that there was an adorable organic community vegetable garden called "From Seed to Need" at an outdoor shopping area, Grove West.  The garden is maintained with help of local students, with 100% of the proceeds being donated to charity.

Total Garden Market proceeds raised for charity to date: $2,269.23
