Cheers to a Glitzy 2011!
Because, well, let's face it...you deserve it!! I am kind of becoming a girly girl (slowly) & my life will be surrounded by much more tasteful dazzle in the new year!
2011 List
Thanks to DesignLoveFest Bri Emery's Twitter, I found some motivation to create my own list for myself in 2011. Not resolutions that will disappear by January 3rd...but real things to remember. What's on your list?
-You have stopped 'not living because of fear' and great things are happening because of it. Don't let it get the best of you.
-If everything in the creative world was easy, everyone would be doing it. Don't let the little bumps take away your energy.
-Continue to evaluate things & fully communicate with everyone in your life. Everything is a process, but you are doing great!
-Take the time to keep you check book balanced. When it's not, your life is usually a little messy. Organize, organize, organize.
-Always trust your gut. It has your best interest in mind.
-Continue adding brightness, textures, sequins & other shiny pieces to your wardrobe (like that number above). While you are at it, display it. Always good for a little pick me up on a drab day.
-Don't let your laziness grab you...you know you are better than that!
-Budget wisely, but don't forget to spend on things for yourself...like a manicure, a lip color or some delicious treats from time to time, instead of a pair of shoes that you really don't need!
How amazing is this B-Day dress? Fabulous (and seriously affordable) couture find from Modern Vintage in PDX. I would wear it everyday if I could

Thirsty One
Lovely Package is a fun website that features the best 'outside the box' package design work out there. Really...take a look through the pages of magnificent creativity and be wowed. This post showcased 3 students from Iceland's beer brand concept.

Luxe Looks
The beautiful Angela Lindvall circa 2008 in Harper's Bazaar, photographed by Camilla Akrans & styled by Brana Wolf. Not a fan of the fur, but the muted colors & luxe leather couches are gorgeous.

Water for Elephants
I came across this book while house-sitting for my good friend in November & am so excited to see that the movie is coming out next year, I had no idea it was being made! It was a truly touching book & the trailer looks incredibly artistic.
Green Eggs & Ham
New Jersey is currently a Winter Wonderland under 20+ inches of snow. Until the plows clear the street, I am stuck inside, so I decided to make the most of it and start cooking. With some ham leftover from Xmas dinner, I decided to cook up some protein after an hour of shoveling. The basil pesto spread on top of the eggs were delicious and even better than I thought! It's the perfect hearty breakfast. The perfect drink with it? MOCAFE's Divinity Spice Chai tea-it's convenient, delicious & doesn't expire as quickly as other chai options.

{style} holiday dress
I purchased this hand-sewn wool dress at Fringe Vintage in Portland and have been dying to wear it! It fit me like a glove & was just the right festive piece for Xmas Eve dinner with friends. Ziggy's eyes matched perfectly!!

Tea & Gingerbread Homes
How adorable & perfect are these gingerbread houses from not martha?! I really love how she used the door to hold up the house & the sprinkles for the snow. They would be just perfect perched on my mug hovering over my Chai tea.

Party Time!!
Had a fantastic Holiday Party with a client last night at the Bowlmor Lanes in Union Square. The food was unreal (not a surprised since it's created by David Burke), but sadly, my bowling score was not. Even sadder, I pulled a muscle in my back.

Andaz Lounge
I found myself in the Andaz Hotel on Wall Street (the first 18 floors of the luxurious 75 Wall residences) & couldn't pull away from the cafe in their lounge. Those iron stove doors & trinkets pulled me right in.

Through the eyes of The Cherry Blossom Girl at Chanel
Ok...so The Cherry Blossom Girl has inspired me from time to time and has made an appearance here and there. You know, the girl that lives in Paris and lives an extraordinary life.... She was lucky enough to be a guest for the Chanel Paris Byzance show, as well as get a behind the scenes look at the masters creating these masterpieces (she has remarkable photos of those details on her blog, too). Truly works of art.
I have a feeling this nail design (seen in Vena Cava's S/S 2011 show) are going to be everywhere. At least, on my nails, anyway.
