{in my kitchen} it's the bee's knees

Last week we welcomed our new COO with a cocktail hour where each team made a delicious recipe of their choosing.  One such colleague concocted a Gin cocktail that was seriously good, and if you remember, I've been trying to find some sweet gin recipes to no avail.

I made a big batch of this to keep me warm during "Winter Storm Nemo" [rolling eyes] + it definitely worked.  All you need?
  • Gin
  • real ginger ale [the brand I got has fruit flavors, which also helps mellow out the taste]
  • lemon juice
  • honey syrup [honey + water on a pot = honey syrup]
  • dash of mint

{on the street} head case

As with everything in fashion right now, there are a lot of things going on above the shoulders right now - fedoras, big brims, knits, prints - there are endless options.  I myself have gone into the direction of Indiana Jones as of recent, but I've also donned the knit cap a loooong time ago [bad memories of it not looking great on my long thin + awkward face], so I'm a little skeptical of not looking like I'm a child in one.

Which is your favorite?

{in my kitchen} brunch for one

What happens when a snow blizzard [while over-forecasted as always] keeps you indoors on a Saturday morning?  Well, you have that fabulous brunch indoors for yourself.  You may or may not have picked up on the fact that I am kind of a floozy for Eggs Benedict.  I actually happened to go to a real brunch later in the day that included just that with crab cakes.  Who knew!!!

Anyway, before I dug out my car + scrubbed the apartment, I made my own little twist to an Benedict - smoked salmon, egg and arugula mix on some fresh toasted bread.  There is no recipe to this because it's a DIY/please yourself kinda meal.

I also felt all "fancy like", so I decided to make some loose leaf berry tea from Mc Nulty's which was and is always an absolute treat.  If you are ever in the West Village on Christopher Street, I highly advise you to stop in there.

and this was the tea I was talking about.... if only you could smell it....

{runway} Timo Weiland Menswear Fall 2013

I really enjoyed going to see a Menswear Presentation for once last night.  Even though I couldn't wear any of it, the details that were put into  each piece was  something women could appreciate + be inspired by [especially those Medallion prints].

{editorial} Vogue Thailand

As New York Fashion Week has officially kicked off, I thought a little luxury could be a nice touch of inspiration.  What's better than some gold + bedazzlement, anyway?
