{hungry eyes} Roost blog

As you've probably caught on to, I have food on the brain.  Definitely a side effect of the dropping temperatures & the comfort of it all.

Roost seems to combine the 3 things that make me happy in life, and that make a 'blog' truly stand out - photography, recipes & beautiful narratives.  And though I will not be adventuring out as often over the upcoming months, at least I can look forward to trying to create these masterpieces myself.  What they will look like, we can only imagine.

{good eats} The Meatball Shop

Yes, The Meatball Shop is just as tantalizing as it sounds [and looks]! My 'naked ball' choice was a rueben special, that mixed all the yumminess of a corned beef sandwich, to, well, a naked meatball!

{paint whisperer} Eve Ashcraft

Just coming off of a conversation last night about painting the bottom of a wall, I came across these images this morning to inspire me to actually do it.  Now if I could just settle on the actual color.

{good eats} Dough

I have long term goals in life, including traveling, designing a jewelry/accessories line, getting married and the sort, but one of my short term goals is to take advantage of this doughnut trend.  Not trying to save the world in the next few months, but I do think it's my civic duty as a New Yorker to sample as many as possible.

This weekend's treat was courtesy of Dough, happily situated right as my friend and I entered the Brooklyn Flea.  She went with the bright hibiscus [who knew hibiscus would taste SO good!] and I went with a cafe version.  Both absolutely delicious and the best variety I've had, yet!

{photo diary} Jane's Carousel

More wonderment from DUMBO.  Jane's Carousel is a restored Carousel that opened up on the Brooklyn waterfront just last month that I have been dying to see!

{good eats} Landhaus Lamb Burger

Sometimes the simplest ingredients can make the most delicious dish. Case in point, Landhaus' Lamb Burger with whipped feta cheese, marinated onions, cilantro and an amazing sauce to top it all off.  You had me at cilantro.

{photo diary} The Creator's Project

The Creator's Project took over the streets, buildings and old warehouses in DUMBO this weekend with an immense amount of interactive exhibits, great food vendors, DJ's at the Tobacco Warehouse and Florence + The Machine performing under the Archway.
