{snack'd} Laudree macarons

This is going to sound crazy coming from someone who's been in NYC on and off for 12 years, and who is obsessed with macarons, but I've never experienced Laudree macarons until a walk back to the subway after a trip to the MET. I was lucky enough to not only walk out with a box of their traditional flavors, but a box of the dark chocolate Reed Krakoff flavor.  The only way I can explain the taste of that dark chocolate ganache is the way I felt after that first bite - weak in the knees.

{snack'd} The Redhead Bacon Peanut Brittle

It was a normal Friday afternoon at work.  The sun was out, the temperature was ideal, so the team at work decided to walk over to Better Being Underground for some seriously amazing food.  I knew waiting on line into what it seemed was a basement apartment would be well worth it, what I wasn't expecting was the snacks to the side.

The first thing that got my attention, of course, was The Redhead brand.  Secondly?  Well, if you know me or have read the blog, the bacon + maple lovefest pulled me right in - Bacon Peanut Brittle!  AND, knock my socks off, it had hints of cayenne to create a world of wonder on my tongue.

{snack'd} Doughnut Plant NYC pt 2

I have stopped at Chelsea's Doughnut Plant time and time again [first seen here] for their Creme Brulee doughnut, but this time, their Hazelnut special jumped out at me.  And boy am I glad it did....

{snack'd} Thai Mazipan

I am lucky enough to live a block away from one of the best Thai restaurants in NYC, SriPraThai. This is real, authentic Thai, so whenever I make a stop there I try to walk away with one new thing.  This trip I walked out with Thai Mazipan.  Mainly because these bite-size bean paste treats in the form of fruits and vegetables were just too cute to resist.

{snack'd} breakfast of champions

I need a serious reality check with the types of dinners I have been allowing myself to have that pertain of only items from the dessert menu accompanied wine.  I knew I had a problem Wednesday when I not only ordered an ice cream sandwich for dinner, but when I decided to start the day with a vanilla french macaron.

They really were darling with those little lips though.
