{style} 3.1 Phillip Lim takes NYFW

Let me tell you a story.

A girl walks into her favorite consignment store in NYC [no she isn't telling you which one, wink wink] and sees a beautiful white dress hanging in the front.  What is this, she thinks.  Oh, it's 3.1 Phillip Lim [grabs that shit].  She takes it to the fitting room and falls in love immediately.  Obviously, she decides to purchase it and uses NYFW coming up as the validation.

Long story short, I came across a pretty special and one-of-a-kind 3.1 Phillip Lim dress - the embellishment, the shape, the slit, the simplicity that doesn't call for any other accessories - this baby will be carefully stored and taken care of like it were my child.

{style} nantucket in the city

A friend of mine had a Nantucket themed party this past weekend and it may have been the best idea ever! My seer-suckers weren't really working, so I decided to go more Grey Gardens style instead.  I definitely need to smile more-no more chronic bitch face

Lanvin <3 H&M

Ahhh mazing!
I don't know about you, but nothing thrills me more than seeing these designer collaborations at more affordable retail chains like H&M and Target. I am a HUGE Lanvin fan; the shoes, the bags, the clothes...it's always beautifully stylized collections. But, since I don't have limitless income and not getting invited to the freebie suite anytime soon, it's only been a desire. Not anymore!

Says Margareta van den Bosch, creative advisor at H&M, "We are thrilled about Lanvin's collection for H&M, it is such an exciting moment. Lanvin will bring to H&M a luxurious French tradition that is also modern and playful. It is very much a Lanvin collection, using their cut and tailoring, with lots of focus on form and details for both women and men. The launch in November is going to be full of wonderful surprises."

A sneak peak of the collections will be available to view on November 2nd and will be in stores November 20th. Mark your calendars...having Lanvin on your wishlist this year isn't just a wish.

(If this is too far off, don't miss out on Tucker's new line at Target in 2 weeks!!)

I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts

It appears that any product made from coconuts is the new thing. Coconut water (still not use to the taste), coconut milk, and now, coconut hair products. I have recently come across numerous articles raving about how great MOROCCANOIL® is and the benefits it has for your hair-shine, quicker drying time, strengthens & conditions. Knowing that two of the fans were Lauren Conrad & Whitney Port, which both have beautifully shiny hair, I quickly became a believer.

Not wanting to spend the $30+ on this specific hair product, I was relieved to come across Organix® Coconut Milk Instant Repair Treatment while on a weekly shopping trip in Target for under $5. My hair, while going through a crazy period, is very fine and most products leave a greasy residue and look. Happily, this conditioner did no such thing. You comb it through your hair, leave it on for 3-4 minutes and wash out. That's it. The faint smell of coconuts in your hair is equally addicting. Bonus? Organix® Coconut products are made with organic products, safe for color-treated hair AND the packaging is eco-friendly, being made from post-consumer resin. De-lish.

Here we go 'round the Mulberry bush....

Photo: Mulberry
After a recent trip to London, I have an increasing love for the city and everything that comes from it. To my delight, Target is teaming up with UK luxury handbag designer Mulberry on October 10, 2010 to create a limited edition handbag collection, Mulberry for Target. In my opinion, it's been awhile since Target's designer collaborations has hit the mark in the clothing department. But, after a successful line with Eugenia Kim's hats & Cynthia Vincent's shoes, I have no doubt in my mind that Mulberry's taste level will be reached effortlessly. Here's hoping they make an 'Alexa' spin-off that would be perfect for the fall months.
