{in my kitchen} kale convert

Idk what happened to me in the last few months, but I find myself thinking about kale more often than those other bad cravings that have gotten me through the last 30 years (I think it may be laced with drugs).  Especially after the weekend of indulgence we Americans like to call Memorial Day that consisted of a waffle + bacon sandwich, lobster roll and hot dog all between the lunch + dinner hours.  After that, kale, strawberries, baked brussel sprout chips and cherries was really the only way to end the binge.

{style} high 'n low

There is nothing like some mixing and matching when it comes to an outfit - masculine + feminine, multiple prints, vintage + new - but one of the most interesting is usually high + low.  This fab maxi with strategic cutout and faux leather neck was only $19 (full price) and went perfectly with this tote that I bought myself for a belated 30th Birthday, which, well let's just say it was more than the dress, k??

*Pink sunburn accents sold separately.

{beauty} Bite Lip Lab

It happened early last week.  I walked by a new space during my daily walk on Prince Street + realized there was something different happening inside.  Upon further inspection, I realized that it wasn't just a beauty shop, it was a beauty shop that created custom lip stick.  First the cronut, now this?  I like this feeling of being spoiled to my heart's content, I really do.

After harassment ensued upon some of my fellow coworkers, I had a lucky lady partake in the adventure with me for a costume face upgrade at Bite Lip Lab.  I loved everything about this - the artist/scientist was extremely knowledgeable + helpful, the clean + bright space, the color pods on baking racks resembling baked goods hot out of the oven, the addition of peppermint oils, and the scientific process that takes place between the melting of the lipstick and the sealing of the package with my name on it.

Now ladies, just think about this.  The regular Bite product line is about $24.  In the midst of 20 minutes, we got a consultation, the perfect shade and got to watch our lipstick come to fruition in front of us for $28.  I don't know that I can ever really go back to off-the-shelf purchasing after this...
